Thought for the day:

Romans 12:1-2   the Message
So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you:  Take your everyday, ordinary life – your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life – and place it before God as an offering.  Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for Him.  Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking.  Instead, fix your attention on God.  You’ll be changed from the inside out.  Readily recognize what He wants from you, and quickly respond to it.  Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

Sometimes, I think the Word of God says it all, and doesn’t need any other comments.  So don’t let me bog you down any more than what is said here.  I will encourage you to study this passage.  How often do we take our everyday, ordinary life, and place it before God?  I sometimes think I can handle the everyday stuff myself, so why bother God with the little stuff?  Do we fit in so well with the world around us, that those in our daily lives would be surprised to find out we were Christians?  I pray that is not the case in your life, my dear brothers and sisters.  Just in case, though, meditate on His Word.  Ask God to show you the truth.  Let Him bring out the absolute best in you!
